Back to Blogging

Blogging, how I've missed you.

Well, not really.

I totally forgot about Artsy Gal. And it seems many people missed me in my absence. Over 100 views in April. New record. Whoop whoop.

I've been so busy with school and dance and everything I haven't even thought about my (or anyone else's) blog. I haven't even really had time for art. How sad?

Hopefully after finals (only three more weeks of school!) I'll get back to art more. I have been doing some drawing, though nothing too spectacular.

AND THATS ALL THE TIME WE HAVE TONIGHT!
Sorry, but more posts soon I hope.

P.S. Sites like Facebook and Google need to learn: don't try to fix what's not broken! BTW I'm protesting Timeline.

Something thats been bothering me...

I read this blog a few days ago that was about art, but there was this random thing about how her niece got attacked by a shark last year. A SHARK. Just another reason to avoid the ocean...

I'm pretty terrified by sharks, but then this happened yesterday..

Yes, I got into a fight with a toy shark and penguin at a toy store.

No my question is, why is everthing cuter and less menacing in stuffed animal form?

And cartoon form?

Is that not adorable?

Some Upcoming Projects...

I have a few projects planned and hopefully over the next few weeks I'll make a few of them and have some tutorials!

This clutch is just so cute! I'm thinking I'll use black fabric paint to make the mustaches and then sew up a purse.

I think this would make a really cute accessory, but I won't pay eight dollars for it when I can make it myself. It looks like it shouldn't even take that long...

I've seen shrike dink rings before but I just learned how to make them. I love this design and unicorns, so maybe I can make my own!

This one isn't made out of shrike dink, but I figure if I make the diamond part and a separate band I could just melt them together.

I'm loving this look of the fur hood and a different color fur mittens (faux of corse), and I've worked with fur a little in the past. It is a little late in winter to be making this kind of clothes though... Ah well, I'll have it for next year.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with some cool results!

New Design...

I decided it was time to revamp the layout of the blog, so now it has a purple-grey color scheme and a nice image as the header. Everything is still in the same place and none of the links have changed. Hope you like it!

Crochet Sea Creatures

I found these at this website and I though they were cool.

You can buy them, or probably try and make you're own

Toothbrush Bracelets

I'm sure these aren't anything new and interesting, but I haven't seen them before: Toothbrush Bracelets.

Interesting recycling idea...

The Hunger Games

The books were fantastic, The Hunger Games being the best, obviously. I doubt the movie will be good compared to the book, but I'm still seeing it on March 23rd when it premires.

Also, my Mockingjay necklace came in the mail yesterday!

All Stars Recap

I'm finally caught up on Project Runway!

I absolutely loved Rami's street look (left). Sweet P's opera dress (middle) was... well... not suitable for the opera or anything else. I liked April's Ms. Piggy sketch (right), but when she actually made it, I just didn't feel it. It wasn't very Miss Piggy anyways.

Kara's opera dress (right) had the same problem Sweet P's did... and though I like the idea of her broadway design (left), it wasn't exicuted well.

I adore Austin! His opera dress (right) was fantastic and the outfit for Godspell (left) is just gorgeous. I would love to wear the street clothes punk outfit (middle) too!

I thought Mondo's Jamaica dress (far right) was great, and incorporating the colors in the back (second from right) was very interesting. I loved the jacket of his street out fit (middle) was great, but I didn't love the shorts. The dress for the broadway challenge (second from left) is beautiful and reminds me of the beach. Wasn't it supposed to be separates though...?

Michael's opera dress (right) is fantastic! I love the collar- elegant yet edgy. His broadway outfit was very creative, using the hair piece and shoe straps (you cant really see them in this picture...) to tie it all together.

I don't really like Kenely... there's just something about her personality... And the fact that she makes almost the exact same dress every time. I did like the pop of her passion fruit dress though (top row, second from left). And her Chile dress (far right, bottom) was creative. Her Godspell outfit (secound from left, bottom) was absolutely dreadful though.

I really like Mila's clothing, even if her color palet is rather bland. I loved the modern style of her Miss Piggy dress (far right) though it isn't Piggy's style. Her autumn sportswear outfit (far left) was fantastic in my opinion. And I really liked her Papua New Guinea dress (middle). I thought it was creative, different, and very well made. What's wrong with the judges?

I adored Anthony! "Hi, Hot White Guy!" It was sad to see him go. He was only sent home because his street look (left) didn't meet the challenge requirements- using 50% of the fabric you got from people. It was about 40/60 though. His Miss Piggy look (right) was my favorite of his- I want to own it!

I also love Jerell. His clothes are usually fantastic. His street look (right) was a little... crazy... and his India dress (second from left) would have been way better if he hadn't added the green. I absolutely loved his frist dress (left), Fruit of the Forest gelato dress (middle) and winter sportswear (second from right). His sports wear was much better than Michael's.

Project Runway All Stars; Gelato Inspired Outfits

I haven't been keeping up with Project Runway All Stars very well... better late than never!

I suppose I understand what Kara was thinking of with her Cupcake dress, but it wasn't well executed.

April's Blueberry dress looked like a halloween costume and was not well made; the hem was uneven and the cut of the top was ugly. The outfit Rami made was cute, but looked scrappy, will all the different pieces of fabric.

I loved Mondo's Cantaloupe! It was cute, and literal in a good way. I also liked Michael's Grapefuit, but it was a little to bland for me.

Austin's dress was ok, I just didn't really fancy it.

I thought Mila's dress was great! It flowed nicely, the way she layered the colors was nice; very original.

The Passion Fruit was nice, but the same as Kenley always does, just different colors.

I loved Jerell's Fruit of the Forest dress. It really felt foresty, and I think his idea of the straps of fabric around the neck and shoulder area was very creative. And the bottom just flowed so beautifully!

Pintrest

Recently on Pintrest and Look Book I found some inspiring pictures. Take a look...

Just an adorable outfit...

I love the contrast of the eyepatch and the necklace...

Maybe I should make these for my dog... he gets cold.

I wish I could have her hair....

Cozy and fashionable

That skirt is so cute, it's like feathers

I need to make a pair of these jeans...

I just love this picture...

Hope you're inspired!
